Despite all the research on dust, it is only a small fraction of the universe. Even in moderately dusty galaxies like our own, dust accounts for less than 1% of the mass.

The idea that dust is a basic building block for everything is unheard of. It is hard to imagine any facet of dust that Hannah Holmes didn't cover in this book in remarkably vivid details.
